The oil driven home heating furnace system has certain advantages. As the fuel is oil in oil furnace, it does not produce any toxic gas and proves eco friendly. The efficiency rate for oil heat furnace is 80% whereas, new gas furnace imparts efficient rate up to 97%.
The cost to run and maintain a home heating furnace is entirely dependant on the fuel type. Propane and heating oil are best expensive fuels because these are not available in utility outlets. Natural gas rate and electricity rate differs location wise and subject to modification of federal laws.
All furnaces are rated on their scale of efficiency; the measurement is termed as Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency [AFUE] rating. The measurement is based on the proportion between energy quantity and conversion of the energy into heat and some quantity of energy has got exhausted. A gas furnace is 80% efficient means it can convert 80% energy in to heat and 20% energy gets exhausted in heat producing process.
